A colourful, vivid account. I have nothing but respect for people who have to deal with customers of any kind - especially in restaurants, bars, and supermarkets (I've worked in the latter as a teenager). Perhaps it would be an idea to make everyone should work in service industry by law for a time, so they can understand what it is like. A bit like non-military national service.
