A fascinating point. I'm so glad I met my wife back in the Stone Age before any of this swipey-appy nonsense (and before it was considered politically incorrect to chat someone up at work, which is how we met). My own children (both male), now 18 and 14 respectively, refuse to have any social media having seen the damage it has inflicted on their friends.
Also, they recently had a conversation, after reading/watching Pride and Prejudice and the Anne of Green Gables TV series from the late 1980s, to the effect that they believe old school courtship is the answer to all this nonsense. They both consider characters like Darcy and Gilbert Blythe (or Aragorn from The Lord of the Rings) to be role models of how to treat women honourably (and as good role models of masculinity in general), and can't understand why their contemporaries look to the likes of "misogynist twatbangles" (their words) like Andrew Tate instead.
Perhaps there is hope for humanity if more young men adopt such ideals. Needless to say, my wife and I are very proud of them both.
