A great article on a great film, which I've loved ever since I first saw it in the cinema back in whenever the hell it was. I must confess however, I doubt your commitment to Sparkle Motion, as this is one case where I do not prefer the director's cut. I prefer the mystery and baffling, existential mind fornication of the original cut. Plus I prefer Echo and the Bunnymen's Killing Moon over the opening rather than INXS Never Tear Us Apart. (Speaking of music, Pet Shop Boys West End Girls was originally supposed to be over the Sparkle Motion sequence, rather than Duran Duran's Notorious, but they couldn't get the rights.)
