A great article with some fine choices (especially The Long Riders, which I haven't watched in years, and now want to dig out and view).

I don't think I could write my own list of favourite westerns as I don't think I could bear to keep it to ten. Stagecoach, Red River, The Searchers, Shane, High Noon, Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid, My Darling Clementine, The Wild Bunch, Once Upon a Time in the West, Unforgiven, Dances with Wolves, and The Assassination of Jesse James by the Coward Robert Ford would all be on the list, but I've barely scratched the surface.
