A sobering thought.

…lture and history of the West, especially Europe, for 2,000 years has been primarily Christian, and whether you’re a hardcore Catholic, lukewarm Methodist, or complete agnostic, you simply cannot deny that our history and culture would look vastly, immeasurably different, from our idea of secular democracy to the place of women in society, if these particular battles had gone a different way.
