A very interesting and insightful article. Personally, I see nothing inherently wrong with either male or female gaze in and of itself. A lot of the horror cinema I find fascinating (including contributions from the recent renaissance of new female horror directors such as Jennifer Kent, Julia Ducournau, Ana Lily Amirpour, etc) is built on both. I also agree that both men and women sexualise all the time - if they're honest!
