A well-written, well-argued article. However, I don't fully go along with your view, as I actually think there are postively portrayed fat people in film/literature - pretty much any film starring John Candy or Melissa McCarthy, for a start. Or Hairspray. Precious? How about Santa Claus?

Perhaps you have a point about a disproportionate number of villainous fat characters though. You could also have mentioned Baron Harkonnen in Dune. I'm not sure Jabba the Hutt should count though (not that you mentioned him, just a bit of a brain tangent).
