Novelist and Short Story-ist. Film and Book Lover. If you cut me, I bleed celluloid and paper pulp.
Most of my writing on Medium concerns film. I'm a dyed-in-the-wool, old-school cineaste who believes cinema is the true faith and television is the antichrist. None of this newfangled streaming nonsense either. Films should be seen first and foremost in the cinema, and that is a hill I will die on.
I don't do downloads. Real books, albums, and Blu-Rays/DVDs only in the libraries of the Dillon Empire. Yes, I'll admit I have occasionally resorted to downloaded novels when particularly strapped for cash, but I'm not proud of it. Each to their own obviously, but I like my clutter.
I've also written several novels and a few short stories, some traditionally published, some self-published. Most occupy the gothic mystery horror/thriller spectrum, though I have also dabbled in dystopian science fiction, children's adventures, and even the odd bit of romance. I'm branching into fantasy a little as well, but horrors and thrillers remain my fiction preoccupation.
On Medium, I've also been known to wax lyrical about my favourite novels and film soundtracks. Despite the deluge of writing advice on this platform, I confess I have indulged a little on that front too. Finally, I have also been known to rant with great vehemence. On such occasions, I recommend maintaining minimum safe distance.
I hope you enjoy my writing.
