Advances in visual effects technology are not in and of themselves arguments for me to find one film better than another. Otherwise I'd prefer the more modern version of Clash of the Titans (a bland CGI bore) to Ray Harryhausen's original (it may be ropier visual effects wise, but it has so much more heart).
