Again, I can't really get into loads of detail as I haven't time, but despite everything I say here, my Christian worldview is fairly orthodox (small O, not the demomination). But I'm an odd duck - German Jewish via my maternal grandmother, Jamaican Scottish via my father's side of the family, and born in England (Oxford, to be precise). I've never lived outside England, yet I feel a profound sense of "home" whenever I visit Israel (which I've done countless times), yet even then, I wouldn't label myself as Messianic Jewish anymore than I'd label myself by any Christian denomination.

To come to your point, yes other religions have things in common with Christianity and certain truths that overlap, so dismissing other religions out of hand as "nonsense" is obviously foolish (as well as insensitive and rude to those who adhere to other faiths). I don't seek to persuade anyone else, as I consider that to be the job of the Holy Spirit, not me. But Jesus did say to go into the world and preach the gospel. I believe a considerable part of that involves simply being a good ambassador for Jesus Christ and the Kingdom of Heaven, and frankly, many on the evangelical side of things (especially in the US) are, I believe doing an exceedingly poor job in that respect, for all sorts of reasons.

However, if you ask me what my faith is, it is simple. You mentioned "truths", but I believe Jesus Christ is the Truth. As he says in the Bible: "I am the way, and the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me." (John chapter 14 verse 6). I do believe that it is only through a relationship through Jesus Christ that we can be truly fulfilled in this life, and be with God for eternity in heaven, having confessed our sins (whatever they may be) and been forgiven for them through the sacrifice of Jesus Christ on the cross, who I believe died and rose again. So yes, in that sense, my views are orthodox.

But I wouldn't expect you to take my word for that. One can only know that truth by getting to know The Truth, if you take my meaning. A relationship with Jesus is personal, and it is only my job to state to you what I believe. What you do with that is up to you. I'm not interested in twisting any arms.

Or, as Morpheus says in The Matrix: "I can only show you the door. You have to walk through it." :)
