Again, interesting. I typically had one really good friend from each "phase" of my life - school, A-levels, university, then work, until I met my wife. Then no one for years (I just didn't think I needed anyone beyond my wife) until I met my current best friend about ten years ago.

Lots of acquaintances, colleagues, and people with whom I was on friendly terms along the way, of course. :)
