Again, I've actually lost count of the number of times I've been to DC, due to work trips. The first time I went I took an extra week to do the tourist stuff - the White House, the Smithsonian, etc. Speaking of the latter, I spent an entire day (pretty much) in the rocks and minerals section of the Natural History Museum. Bliss.

Oh - and regarding the Lincoln memorial, when I visited with my wife, we re-enacted a well-worn spy film cliche, by having her climb down the steps and me climb up, meeting halfway and whispering furtively "Where you followed?" before awkwardly passing an envelope. Good times.
