Again - only in mainstream Hollywood. This is a year that has produced Kinds of Kindness, The Wild Robot, Monster, I Saw the TV Glow, The Substance, Anora, Small Things Like These, Sing Sing, Emelia Perez, Late Night with the Devil, Immaculate, Kensuke's Kingdom, Love Lies Bleeding, Strange Darling, Juror #2, Civil War, Joker: Folie a Deux (whatever you think of it - I think it's far more interesting than many claim), Lee, The Apprentice, The Dead Don't Hurt, A Different Man, Blitz, The Outrun, The Beast, My Favourite Cake, Thelma, Hit Man, Kneecap, The Count of Monte Cristo, Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga, Challengers, All We Imagine As Light, My Old Ass, Conclave, as well as Dune Part Two (which I think is a masterpiece), plus major potential Oscar contenders I've yet to see (as they're not in the UK till January) such as The Brutalist, Maria, A Complete Unknown, A Real Pain, and September 5.

That's an incredibly varied list, only a fraction of which hails from mainstream Hollywood. In short, artistically interesting cinema is as alive and vibrant as ever, but maybe people need to check out their local independent cinemas as well as their multiplexes. :)
