Agreed. An important film, but not comfortable as it (cleverly) backs the audience into a corner with its inherent idea of it being better to have the choice between good and evil and choose evil. The final chapter of the novel slightly lets readers off the hook, by having Alex grow out of his violent ways, but Kubrick is merciless and omits that bit.
