Agreed. Anyone who has worked in the industry (I have a TV background, with some minor film work) knows it takes everyone's collaborative efforts. It is primarily critics and academics that are behind the auteur idea. I'm not saying directors shouldn't be recognised, of course. Many of them do bring their own unique touch. But it isn't just about them. :)
