Agreed. As I always say, there is Alien and Aliens.

Alien and Terminator: Both started off as sci fi/horror unexpected juggernauts built on simple premises. Both had great follow up films which were directed by the same guy. The more these worlds are expanded on, the more the mystery and allure of the originals is stripped away. They are simple stories, let them be.

Agreed. As I always say, there is Alien and Aliens. There is The Terminator and Terminator 2: Judgment Day. The rest are bastard children.
