Agreed. At least that had stunning South Dakota cinematography without a CGI pixel in sight (it looked fabulous at the cinema in 35mm). Plus it's a great adventure story, a touching love story, a paean to diplomacy, and just a great epic all round. Lovely John Barry score too. White saviour narrative? If you'll forgive my use of an obscenity, "whatevs". The film clearly has its heart in the right place, and was intended as a corrective to Hollywood's depiction of Native Americans, not to history.
Oh, and at least Dances with Wolves has a sense of humour. There are a surprising amount of laugh out loud moments, unlike Cameron's preachy po-faced blitherings.
