Agreed. Forgiveness is a choice for our benefit, not for the person who wronged us. And it doesn't mean we condone what they did. :)

I am really sorry to self-promote, but I reckon you might find my 2014 novel Children of the Folded Valley cathartic for reasons I can't spoil. I don't think it is my best novel - at least two of the chapters are a bit of an info-dump that I'd write differently if I were writing it today - but it remains by far my most popular novel for some reason.
