Agreed. I've written five that will never see the light of day: Three of them are rubbish (the first novels I wrote), and another two are far too personal, and would upset a number of still living people. But I had to write the latter two to get certain things out of my system.
Thankfully, several other novels of mine did see the light of day, including three traditionally published gothic mysteries - Spectre of Springwell Forest, Phantom Audition, and The Irresistible Summons - and a number of other self-published novels.
