… lame. I’ve covered most of it there — but the real reason this film is so terrible isn’t the plot. It’s the total disregard for what made the original so compelling and a total misunderstanding of what makes an interesting film.

Agreed. The original Jurassic Park blew me away when I first saw it at (what was then) the UCI THX screen 1 at High Wycombe in the summer of 1993. I saw it four times. Today, I consider it a classic as iconic as the original 1933 King Kong.
This one however... nope.
