It’s not just that Father Hood had to be re-baptized and re-ordained, or that hundreds of people have to go through the processes again (something many have simply chosen not to do). At a time when churches of all stripes can’t seem to avoid scandal and church attendance is plummeting, the saddest part is that something easily avoidable once again reflects poorly on Christ and Christianity in general.
