An accurate assessment of the second Mission Impossible film. It's the only one I don't revisit (I've watched it twice in total) as it is utterly overwrought. And as you say, feels like a bad Bond film.

Still, it at least gave us this fun exchange with Anthony Hopkins:

Ethan Hunt: [about recruiting Nyah] I don't think I can get her to do it.

Mission Commander Swanbeck: You mean it'll be difficult?

Ethan Hunt: Very.

Mission Commander Swanbeck: Well, this is not mission difficult, Mr. Hunt, it's mission impossible. "Difficult" should be a walk in the park for you.
