An excellent point, which I bear in mind with all my film reviews on Medium.

In addition, as an author of both novels and short stories, although most of the reviews have been excellent (very gratifying), I've also been on the receiving end of a few exceptionally unfair notices (criticising a horror story for being too scary or too disturbing is as absurd as criticising a comedy for being too funny). Despite this, I try to learn from the scathing reviews to see if they have a point about where I can improve buried within their venom. I wrote about this here, if you're interested:
