An excellent rant. Generally my commenters are reasonable people, and I have no problem with robust, informed disagreement. But I have encountered the odd moron. One incident in particular that I won't recall the details of here depressed me a great deal, to the point that I no longer submit articles to the publication in question. Some militant types simply fail to see reason.
