An excellent rant and some important lessons learned.

I'm afraid these kinds of online groups exist for every developmental state of children. I'm not in any, but my wife occasionally looks at some of the parents with teenagers groups she is invited to join (like the various other child stages prior to this), purely to read me some gems that would make great satire (my wife has much the same cynical attitude that you've developed about these groups).
