An extraordinary documentary, laying out the appalling, banal minutiae of what was involved in the Holocaust from German interviewees who were involved in the administration of it, as well as the survivor testimonies, which are harrowing beyond belief. In one scene, a survivor is so overwhelmed, he gets up and walks out of shot. Lanzmann left the camera running on the empty chair, which speaks volumes about the unutterable horrors of the Holocaust. Everyone should see this documentary at least once in their lives.
