Why suggest altruistic donations of likenesses? Disney recently faced backlash for using actor deep fakes in their movies and television shows. They were also under quite a bit of scrutiny for proposing contractual arrangements with extras allowing them to own their likenesses for AI-generated performances in the future, made without further consent or pay. In The Creator, however, likeness-donation is an act of generosity and kindness. It isn’t an outright invasion of privacy. It is a gift, a way of giving back.
