And now we're into the realms of stupidly good. I'm not sure I'd say it's the greatest film ever made (one of these days I may write an article featuring the ten films with the strongest claim) but it is an absolute classic; a singular distillation of pure cinema. David Lean's greatest film, featuring Peter O'Toole's finest performance. And it absolutely must be seen at the cinema on the biggest screen possible (ideally in the original 70mm).
