And why our sitcoms are best: Fawlty Towers, Monty Python, Blackadder, The Rise and Fall of Reginald Perrin, Red Dwarf, Yes Minister, The Day Today, The Office (the original version, superior to the US version in my opinion), Extras, etc, etc.

My favourite US sitcoms tend to be animated: The Simpsons, Family Guy, Rick and Morty, Futurama, etc. I've never cared for Friends and its ilk (though a part of me wants to on principle now, as it seems to cause hand-wringing from many professionally offended younger viewers discovering it).
