Another great example. Compare how that film looks to Fincher's The Killer. The latter looks as though it were shot for TV. By contrast, Se7en looks absolutely stunning and vibrantly cinematic. Part of that involves the silver retention chemical process to retain deeper blacks, which wasn't actually used for all prints as it is expensive. However, I saw one of the silver retention prints in 35mm during the original run - twice!
