Anti-French sentiment is hardwired into many Brits, but they've made tons of great films. Off the top of my head: The Passion of Joan of Arc, Napoleon, Un Chien Andalou, La Grande Illusion, La Regle du Jeu, Les Enfants du Paradis, Orphee, La Belle et La Bete, Playtime, Les Diaboliques, Les Yeux Sans Visage, The 400 Blows, Jules et Jim, A Bout De Souffle, The Discreet Charm of the Bourgeoisie, Belle De Jour, Lift to the Scaffold, Au Revoir Les Enfants, Les Samourai, Army of Shadows, The Wages of Fear, Jean De Florette, Manon Des Sources, Nikita, The Big Blue, Delicatessen, The City of Lost Children, Cyrano de Bergerac, Cache, A Prophet, The Umbrellas of Cherbourg, and last year's Petite Maman. Sorry to go on and on.
