Are you asking me or Reuben whether we have "no moral centre" or whether we "like to scream"?
As stated in my comment, I have never watched GB News. I daresay I will ignore it as robustly as I ignore all rolling news channels, as I don't care to subject myself to endless misery with bias of left, right, or any other wing you care to mention.
As far as I know, John Cleese has made no jokes denigrating Obama or Biden so I've no idea why you're saying that.
I do think there is a chilling effect on comedians when they feel they have to tiptoe around certain subjects. Obviously comedy is subjective. Some people find certain kinds of humour funny, others don't. If you don't like it, switch it off is my attitude (or don't go to the venues, if it's live stand-up or whatnot).
I happen to think John Cleese has been responsible for some of the finest comedy of all time. Monty Python, Fawlty Towers, A Fish Called Wanda, and so on. If someone doesn't find these funny, I simply pity them. No point in arguing.
Do I think in his latter years, sometimes John Cleese hasn't expressed himself as clearly or wisely as he might? Indeed. And I daresay joining GB News is a foolish move, for all the reasons Reuben outlines. But I won't join in cliched "angry old white man" chants about John Cleese. I despise the way certain people are determined to ignore this man's achievements and instead indulge in such reductive dismissiveness. John Cleese is much more than one poor decision to join GB News.
An aside: I find the term "punching down" a little generalised and misleading, because whilst I agree it isn't good to bully individuals, sometimes satire needs to target sanctimonious organisations claiming to represent the oppressed that need taking down a peg or two.
