As an unrepentant carnivore, I will never understand absurd notions like "beetroot burger", "vegan sausage", and - in this instance - "cabbage steak". I'm sure the cabbage was tasty, but it is cabbage, as you say.

I have a similar visceral reaction to "courgetti". It just tastes wrong. I like courgette. I like spaghetti. But they are not, and never will be, a substitute for one another.
