As someone who struggles with DIY yet stubbornly attempts it anyway, I very much relate to this.

As an aside, last month, I attempted to be a bit of an amateur plumber, with intermittent success, but for a couple of issues, we had no choice but to call a professional. But at least the bill was a lot less than it could have been, thanks to my efforts (which quite frankly could be written in an article in a similar style to yours). :)
