As the film went on, this really set my teeth on edge. Jake's children also call him "sir", and every time they did, I could hear another Cameron, from Ferris Bueller's Day Off, yelling "Call me sir, dammit!" whilst on the phone to Edward Rooney. Another instance of my brain providing the laughs the film didn't.
