At my former place of work, the IT department called me "Mr Analogue" because I insisted on hard copies of books, films, and music. I have no truck with "streaming" or "the cloud" as I consider art far too important to entrust to something that vague (and potentially open to covert posthumous censorial tinkering - see various titles on Disney+ for examples).
For decades, I have compiled year-end favourite singles compilations, putting a great deal of time and thought into selection, order, and so forth. This used to be on 90 minute cassette. Now it is on CD, but I use an iPod too (derived from hard copy sources). However, I curate these myself. I never have - and I never will - trust a computer to curate a playlist.
Great article by the way.
