At the very least, I'd have drastically reduced the final half hour or so. But that doesn't solve everything.

That said, I don't think it is the job of the reviewer to always suggest alternatives, as the reviewer isn't the writer/filmmaker. Sometimes they can, of course, but not always. In this case, proper suggestions would require considerable time for thought, which I'm not prepared to sacrifice.

However, there are occasions where I've thought through exactly what I would have done. Here's how I would have handled the Star Wars prequels, for example. :)
