Avatar doesn't count for the reasons I outlined, but I'll agree the special effects are good.

As for James Bond, I think Skyfall is the best looking Bond film. I love the visual journey from steely grey high-tech in the opening, to fiery gothic gloom in the finale. On Her Majesty's Secret Service is another that makes particularly fine use of locations (both really need to be seen in the cinema).
