Believe me, I am very forthright in stating that preference if the subject of films is brought up with people I don't know (not that I'm the most sociable of individuals). Those who know me already know not to go there. Hahahaha!
With strangers, I still think erring on the side of caution is just polite. For example, saying "Oh, I saw this really great film called The Sixth Sense where (insert major spoiler about the ending)" is staggeringly inconsiderate. That's transcends common decency as far as I'm concerned. Yes, it is that person's right and freedom of speech to be a blabbermouth. And it is my freedom of belief to consider them an inconsiderate cretin with no self-awareness whatsoever.
