Bollocks. Give me live action in camera visual effects (including puppet work) any day over CGI.

… two puppet movies in particular that have scarred me for life. The Labyrinth and The Dark Crystal. Both are considered part of the holy grail of puppeteering excellence. These two have shaped how I feel about the mystical art of puppetry. And neither looks remotely decent in the cold light of CGI.

Bollocks. Give me live action in camera visual effects (including puppet work) any day over CGI. It should be the last possible option, when a visual effect can be achieved no other way.
