Breaking Bad is superb. Shakespearean in scope, with a splendid tragic arc for Walter White. Better Call Saul is a great companion piece too.

I suppose my all-time favourite TV programme is Doctor Who, which I've loved since I discovered it as a child in the early 1980s. After it ended in 1989 I thought that was it, but I was overjoyed when it returned in 2005, and at first it was better than ever. But recent series with the 13th Doctor haven't been great. I hope it gets back on form soon.

Besides that, my favourite TV comedies include Fawlty Towers, The Day Today, Red Dwarf (juvenile but amusing, for about three or four series), Monty Python's Flying Circus, Blackadder, the original UK verison of The Office, Extras, Yes Minister/Yes Prime Minister, and The Rise and Fall of Reginald Perrin. From the US comedy side of things, I quite like Rick & Morty, Futurama, and earlier series of The Simpsons. I suppose The Big Bang Theory is fun too (I've never cared for Friends).

I do like US high end dramas though - like Breaking Bad, The Wire, and the 2003 - 8 version of Battlestar Galactica.
