By that (miserable) logic, would it be OK to support, say British cinema?

I had been prohibited from going to the movies as a kid and a teenager. It was a sin. According to my Evangelical missionary father, going to a movie was supporting the “Sodom and Gomorrah” ways of Hollywood. Here is how this “11th Commandment” played out in my life.
