By the way, I will add that I get greatly irritated by many evangelical objections on this subject, especially in America, where the rank hypocrisy of "pro-life and pro-death" is laughably stupid. At the same time, as you correctly point out, they aren't really pro-life. Merely pro-birth. If they really cared about the lives of children, they'd invest in proper healthcare, education, and other support infrastructure for these young, often single mothers, who they claim ought to give birth regardless.

Also, I refuse to listen to any anti-abortion evangelical who plays the adoption card unless they are personally willing to open up their homes and adopt. That normally silences 99 percent of them, and the odd exception I know (a grand total of one, who has so far adopted three children) believes as I do on in this subject, ie it is still the woman's choice, even if we are personally against it.
