Completely agreed on the finding a job when older thing. I'm 46. A year ago I was made redundant from a job I'd been in for 23 plus years (thanks to new management asset stripping - yay capitalism). I've got a great CV, but loads of companies want younger people, because they can pay them less/take advantage more. It's immensely depressing. On the plus side, it has meant my real passion - writing - has become my main job. And being my own boss in that respect has distinct advantages. So to concur with Samantha, I've made my "side hustle" (not a term I care for, but I'll use it here) my "main hustle". :)
