Darren, I know I said this already, but I really must reemphasise that Empire of the Sun features some of the most staggeringly beautiful images in Spielberg's back catalogue (despite the harrowing subject matter). The cinematography is mesmerising. I won't spoil anything, but I will say I find the film intensely moving. Great performances all round, and of course, John Williams's hauntingly powerful score is the icing on the cake. :)
