Didn't you find the lack of humour incredibly aggravating? It takes itself far too seriously. And the stodgy, interminable action in the finale is rehashed from other, far superior James Cameron films. I spotted nods to Aliens and The Abyss in particular. Those films had genuinely compelling characters with a proper sense of visceral danger. But both Avatar films just left me cold.
Also, I can't do 3D. It gives me a headache. Not only that, I hate the way you lose colour and contrast. It was a gimmick when developed during the birth of cinema, a gimmick in the 1950s (Dial M for Murder and House of Wax being prominent 3D films of that era), a gimmick during the early 1980s rehash (Jaws 3D, for instance), and a gimmick when Avatar was released in 2009. Film is inherently immersive and doesn't need 3D. Thankfully, we also have big blockbuster directors like Christopher Nolan who have no truck with this 3D nonsense.
Anyway, I digress. Glad you enjoyed the film even though I didn't. As I always say, other opinions are available. :)
