The Dillon Empire’s monthly meander into the Medium maelstrom.

This month, my secretary, Reginald the Rigorous, made one of his annoying, walking-on-eggshells requests to take some annual leave. I must confess, his professional sycophancy can be a little tiresome at times, despite being an otherwise first-rate Imperial secretary. However, his request for time off left me in a bit of a quandary. He’s made himself rather indispensable at selecting Medium highlights once a month, and as such, I suggested he select and train someone from among the Fortress Dillon staff, to take over before he goes on holiday next month. (Servitude in the Dillon Empire is a bit of a closed shop, as I strictly recruit from within my conquered territories, and… well, there aren’t that many of them. Yet.)

Consequently, Reginald has been training Millicent the Malevolent to take over on Dillon Picks whilst he is away, so I don’t have to return to the task. I’m still rather preoccupied with remedying what is alluded to in the above parenthesis concerning inadequate quantities of conquered territories. Regarding the matter at hand, however, to help Millicent, Reginald has been recording audio files of his Dillon Picks selection training sessions. I happened to overhear one of these and decided to transcribe it here, as the introduction to this month’s Dillon Picks…
