Within the hallowed confines of this selection are housed the ten articles that have most diverted me over the past month on Medium. There are no participation trophies in the Dillon Empire. Only those chosen and those not chosen for inclusion in Dillon Picks. If you are chosen, it is entirely understandable if you find yourself possessed of a somewhat smug demeanour, since I pride myself on my vigorous selection criteria.

What are these criteria, I hear at least some of you ask? Dillon Picks will not contain anything written by AI, or anything pro-AI. That is a line in the sand I will not cross, especially as various greedy Hollywood studio bosses are once again suffering under their greed-fuelled delusion that scripts can write themselves, and actors should just be scanned digitally for use in perpetuity.

Other prohibited subjects include earnings bragging, hustle porn (“crypto bros”, you’ve been a particular gnat in my single malt whisky this month), vacuous trend-chasing, we’re-all-doomed apocalypse porn, professionally offended blithering, sweeping statement clickbait, blanket tirades against entire people groups, and ill-informed advice from those with no experience or credentials whatsoever.
