Dillon Picks has evolved a great deal since its humble beginnings here at Fortress Dillon. The Empire’s monthly selection of your finest work on Medium has of late been in the reliable hands of Reginald the Rigorous and Millicent the Malevolent. They don’t always get along, but their selections are sound, and their banter amuses me, which is why I felt confident delegating this task to them. This allows me more time to brood on laws I will put in place once I’m world dictator. For example, I will make it a crime against the Empire for anyone’s first viewing of Lawrence of Arabia or 2001: A Space Odyssey to be on television. Naturally, the Empire will also pass laws ensuring both films are regularly revived at cinemas.

This month, I’ve given Reginald and Millicent an additional task; an experiment of sorts. One of the Empire’s prisoners, an odious hedge fund manager named Gary the Grasping, has been given a brief respite from the tortures of the Imperial dungeons (including subjection to the greatest hits of Celine Dion), for an attempt at rehabilitation.
