Do the Right Thing is a much better choice. I also agree that of the many other terrific films up for awards that year - Field of Dreams, Born on the Fourth of July, Glory, My Left Foot, and Dead Poets Society in particular - all deserved to win Best Picture more than Driving Miss Daisy.
